Universal Health Care Message to Americans From Canadian Doctors & Health Care Experts

Canadian Doctors for Medicare hosted a celebration of Medicare in Canada. The speakers included Roy Romanow, former Saskatchewan Premiere and Commissioner on Health Care in Canada. They tell Americans that Canadian universal health care works and encourage Americans to implement a single payer universal health care system. The video also features Dr. Steven Lewis a health policy and research consultant, Dr. Danielle Martin, Dr. Ryan Meili and Dr. Robert Woolard representing the Canadian Doctors for Medicare and Linda Silas President of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions.

If you are looking to the Canadian healthcare system as a perfect model for an American healthcare system then you will inevitably fail, because the Canadian healthcare system was created for Canadians, not Americans. To put it more simply, it would be like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

@tinfoilrepair That’s the best you’ve got?? Our dollar??? ROFL We are at 95 cents U.S. right now and will go above the U.S. dollar again. Our gov’t just announced our deficit will be 7 billion less than expected, and will be one of the first countries to balance the books. We were also the last one to enter the recession, and will be the best one coming out of it. Nice try though dipshit. P.S. Our gov’t doesn’t run our system, they pay for it. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Canadian Healthcare has many issues, depending on where you live, the population, and many more tangables, just like american health care, where, I pay 12 dollars per doc visit, free operations, 3 to 22 dollars for presciptions and it’s one of many TOOLS americans have to use.. if CANADIANS would mind thier own business, and let Americans seek these simple services.

Unfortunately, in many cases, particularly federal income taxes, Americans pay more than Canadians, especially at the higher income levels. And to make matters worse, at least Canadians receive something for their tax dollars.

The sad and simple thing is that Us americans have seeing our government bring our medicare, medicaid, Tricare, etc. to a state of bankcruptcy. And now they expect us citizens to place our trust, our tax money into their hands and into corporate health insurances along to corporate hospitals, pharamceuticals which have a choke inthe control of medical care prices. Making it now a criminal act if you don’t have a medical insurance regardless if you’re unemployed.
